I’ve got a pair of boots yeah they’re black red and white The kind of boots you wear out on a Saturday night Jimmy brought them back from a trip to Nashville Cost a weeks wages but they really fit the bill they fit the bill.
Jimmy met this girl she invited him to stay Things were doing fine until she caught him playing away She bundled up his clothes and threw them out the door Jimmy got the feeling he ain’t welcome anymore And he was right yeah he was right.
He gathered his belongings set off into the night He had the lights of the tavern firmly in his sight Threw his stuff in the corner and headed for the bar And Frankie served him beer until jimmy hit the floor Yeah Jimmy hit the floor.
Peter loved the girls the girls loved him right back He wound up with Jimmys ex she invited him back Peter saw the boots that Jimmy left behind And said with a smile the girl and boots are mine Those boots are mine and so’s the girl
Peter wore those boots and he loved them for a while But he never was one for sticking with one style He got down on his luck so he sold the boots to me I found the devil made those boots in Nashville Tennessee In Tennessee.
Now I’m to scared to wear those boots anymore Jimmy and Peter have both knocked at heavens door St Peter gave a smile as he ushered them in and said I’ve been waiting for you boys where the hell you been Where the hell you been You sure took your time.

RE-CLAIM MYSELF
I guess I should have listened up better at school Instead of fooling around, But all my friends we knew what were gonna do were gonna dig a hole in the ground
The black stuff always kept our families alive No reason to change it now What’s the point in knuckling down to read and write We got our future mapped out
Reclaim yourself, reclaim yourself, reclaim yourself Well a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do We’ve gotta reclaim ourselves
I was sweet sixteen as I stood in that cage And then they, then they lowered us down The wires that were holding that cage they groaned They made a god awful sound
Before we hit the bottom I’d made up my mind This was the first and very last time No matter what my dad and my grandfather says I ain’t giving my life to this mine
Reclaim myself yeah I’m gonna reclaim myself Reclaim myself yeah Well a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do I’m gonna reclaim myself
Middle 8
Chorus x 2
Reclaim myself Reclaim myself Reclaim myself Reclaim myself

Moving on
I don’t need you tonight, I won’t need you tomorrow Yeah I know it’s been a while but my times they are a changing
I can’t remember a time, that you weren’t by my side But I have to walk away, just gotta keep my pride
Yeah we’ve had some good times Honey please don’t get me wrong Good times they can’t last for ever That’s why I’m moving on
I guess it won’t be easy, but it’s the road I have to make I got two little guys here that need me, it’s the choice I gotta make
Yeah we’ve had some good times Honey please don’t get me wrong Good times they can’t last for ever That’s why I’m moving on
Middle 8
If I stay here with you, we’ll be ok for a while Then you’ll suffocate me, you know that’s just your style
Yeah we’ve had some good times Honey please don’t get me wrong Good times they can’t last for ever That’s why I’m moving on
Yeah we’ve had some good times Honey please don’t get me wrong Good times they can’t last for ever That’s why I’m moving on

If you want the real story, the truth behind the smile If you want to know the answers, come and sit here for a while Sit here for a while, sit here for a while
You might need to close your eyes now, paint a picture in your mind You might need a little patience, Then the truth is what you’ll find Truth is what you’ll find, truth is what you’ll find
It’s the story of a young girl it’s the story of her life It’s the fable of a white dress it’s a tale of more, more not less
This girl is such a beauty, hard to see that now I know But trust me when I tell you, a beauty pictures just can’t show Just can’t show, A beauty pictures just can’t show
She grew into a women yeah, she took him by the hand, They wandered out together, to find the promised land, find the promised land, find the promised land
It’s the story of a young girl it’s the story of her life It’s the fable of a white dress it’s a tale of more, more not less
This girl is every women yeah, this tale is yours and mine This stories never ending now, one long unbroken line, One long unbroken line, one long unbroken line
Look past beyond your questions, beyond what you might see It’s the story of tomorrow, of what will always be Will always be
It’s the story of tomorrow, it’s the story of today It’s the story of tomorrow, it’s the story of today
